Each work in the AbbruchÜbergang series brings together two unposed photographs and places them in relation to one another. Their connection may emerge through form, colour, spatial structure, atmosphere or content. The seam remains visible, yet the correspondences across it allow a new image to appear coherent. The works explore how perception constructs plausibility on multiple levels—visual, aesthetic, spatial and conceptual—even though the two photographs originate from different contexts.
The pictorial space is fractured. The fold appears to be part of reality, yet exists solely within the picture plane.
