Description
An oversized screw penetrates the landscape of the French Alps. The montage reverses the familiar sense of scale: human intervention no longer appears small in relation to nature, but assumes a dimension corresponding to its actual impact.
SchraubenPanorama was created in 2002 from the artist’s own unstaged photographs. The montage draws on photography’s connection to reality to create a visually plausible yet constructed situation. The altered scale invites us to reconsider the relationship between humans, nature and perception.
