LeftWalker is a photo-media work exploring movement, orientation, and individual paths along Bonn’s art mile between the Bundeskunsthalle and the Kunstmuseum Bonn.

Several photographic moments are combined into a single image, creating three distinct movement patterns: a calm, unobtrusive stride; a purposeful path; and an irregular, searching movement.

The purposeful figure is particularly striking. She always steps with her left foot, almost perfectly following the undulating pattern of the paving stones. Body movement and the design of the public space begin to correspond.

Thus, the image not only reveals paths but also the different ways in which people use, interpret, and traverse the same place.
