I enjoy photographing architecture from a formal perspective. I am interested in details in which spaces recede from their function and become visible as surfaces, grids, weighting and contrast. The subject then recedes behind the composition of the image, yet remains on the verge of being legible. Black areas, openings and lines hold the image together before the space becomes legible.
