Description

*PlatzMenschen* is a photo-based work by Albert Gehret exploring time, movement, and human presence in public space.

Multiple photographic moments captured at the same location are merged into a single image. This creates encounters between people that appear plausible yet never actually took place. A new narrative emerges from individual documentary shots.

At the same time, this layering reveals connections that a single photograph could not show. The traces left by pigeons, for instance, reveal how they react to and navigate their surroundings over time.

The image thus creates a reality that never existed in this form—yet can tell us more about the events at that location than any single instant could.

Where does documentation end—and where does a reality begin that only becomes visible through the image?
